no, i'm philosophy which has one of the top 10 graduate programs in the nation...i'm also a minor in communications, which is what i will get my masters in, but most likely not at VT

this thread wasn't intended as a shot at UVa (or any other school for that matter)...not sure where some of you got that...?

i actually just had no idea our architecture program was thought of that way. usually when people talk about the top programs at VT they always mention engineering, business and agriculture. so i was surprised to read that and thought some others might be as well.

ah well, it's always gotta be a pissing contest

My son is a grad from the (architect) program. Just wondering if you knew him. With 25,000+ students at VT, I've found that students from the same program often don't even know one another. VT is a great school, and I've found VT grads seldom have a problem when it comes to seeking employment.

i remember dr coach talking about him, however i do not think i actually ever got to meet him...i know almost no one in philosophy besides some professors and my advisor, but that's mainly because i do not share many common interests with them

i have a lot of engineering friends and a lot of friends in human nutrition, foods and exercise

They need to use these so called "Top Architects" to draw them up some blue prints on how to have successful athletics to go along with said academics. The 2007 Bass Fishing National Title can only take you so far.

BTW, that was a joke so lets not turn this into a 49 page thread about VT's athletics of a fight over VT/UT supremacy. Or why UT won't play VT at Bristol Motor Speedway. We don't need to jump the gun just yet because all of these will be discussed in a matter of a month when football kicks off. Probably on 10 or so occasions, maybe more. The engineering and architecture programs at VT aren't rated much higher than UVa, but I guess VT has to pimp something to show a little academic respectability. The McIntire and Darden business schools have some of the best undergraduate and graduate programs in the country. The law school is top 10 nationally as well.
